Both Jay (the technician) and Carolyn (the administrator/owner) were band directors with a combined service of 50 years in the greater Sacramento, California region.  Jay has been repairing instruments since 1981 starting in Livermore, California.

Working out of his garage, then in in Hayward as co-owner of Bayview Musical Services and then for Music Unlimited in San Leandro and Runzo’s Music World in Dublin.  After moving to Elk Grove in 1995, Jay continued to teach band at Harriet Eddy Middle School and Toby Johnson Middle School.  Carolyn Taught in the Antioch Unified School District.  Jay is a professional percussionist and Carolyn a professional woodwind specialist. 

Jay and Carolyn were very active as musicians in the Sacramento area. They started the Elk Grove Community Concert band in 1997 where Jay was the conductor and Carolyn played 1^st chair clarinet and managed the band until covid hit in 2019.  Jay was also the  Orchestra conductor for River City Theater Company while Carolyn was the personnel director and principal woodwind specialist for the same company for over 15 years.
